A guyed communication tower is a type of telecommunication tower that is supported by guy wires for stability. Unlike self-supporting towers, which rely solely on their own structural integrity to stand upright, guyed towers use tensioned cables anchored to the ground to support the tower structure.
These towers are typically tall and slender, with a central mast or pole surrounded by multiple guy wires extending outward and attached to ground anchors. Guyed towers are often used in locations where space is limited or where cost-effective solutions are required.
The guy wires provide additional support against wind loads and other environmental forces, allowing guyed communication towers to be constructed to greater heights than self-supporting towers. They are commonly used for broadcasting, telecommunications, and other applications requiring tall structures for antenna placement.
